Some stories do not belong to time… they belong to legend. And even the greatest heroes, if they fail to respect the divine order, are punished by divine forces.

Odysseus, in his final moments, before the whirlpool devours him and his companions, as recounted by Dante in his Inferno.

The post The Mad Flight appeared first on Aradia Miniatures.

]]> Dante encounters Ulysses in Hell, among the fraudulent counselors, and asks him about his death. When Odysseus returned home, Penelope’s warmth and the affection of his people did little to curb his thirst for travel, conquest and the discovery of new worlds. So, with a small crew of old sailors, he set sail once more, visiting Sardinia, Morocco and many other lands… and when he reached the Pillars of Hercules, the boundaries that no man could cross – by divine decree – he did not stop. Odysseus and his companions rejoiced at the sight, in the distance, of a tall mountain – a new, as yet unexplored land? – but their joy was short-lived: soon a whirlpool swallowed them up, as if a divine punishment intended to curb their excessive boldness.

This diorama depicts the mad flight of this hero in his quest for ever greater knowledge, punished by his own hubris because he was unable to stop, as Dante recounts, within the limits imposed by Nature and by God. Read the Canto XXVI of Inferno by Dante Alighieri to know more.

This diorama depicts the final moment of Odysseus as described by Dante, a must-have for all collectors!

She is Malkhut, mistress of this world, bound to the dense throne of earthly matter. She preserves and guards the divine flame, the celestial fire that must one day be liberated and returned to its divine abode, Kether.

This miniature, depicting the sefirah Malkhut, is the first release in the Hermetica series dedicated to the esoteric mysteries of the Tree of Sefirot.

]]> HERMETICA collection presents ‘The paths of Light’, a journey through the paths of the Sephirotic Tree.

The Sefirot that make up the Tree of Life are 10 (+ 1 hidden sefirah) and, in Kabbalistic esotericism, represent the descent of the divine spark, a fragment of the Light of God, from Kether (the first and highest sefirah) down to Malkhut (the tenth, positioned at the lowest point), in order to incarnate into matter.

The Kabbalist retraces this path in reverse, through mysticism and magic, ascending the entire Tree, from Malkhut back to the supreme crown, Kether.

This extraordinary esoteric tradition offers countless inspirations for a breathtaking miniature line. Malkhut is the first release: the divine flame prisoned by the material world.
